Originally developed in the 1970s for medium format film cameras, and considered the first choice for portrait and studio photography, these full frame vintage Mamiya lenses have been adapted for modern cinematography use. Optical characteristics of Mamiya 645 lenses include superb clarity without feeling clinical, distinctive bokeh and beautiful, yet controllable flaring. They portray a subtle texture that vintage lenses bring. The 80mm was famously used to film Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. They are LPL mounted, making them suitable for Full Frame sensor cameras such as the ARRI Alexa Mini LF. They are also suitable for the Sony Venice, Venice 2, FX9, FX6 and FX3 by using our Kipon LPL to E-mount apapter.
